4. "When in doubt, wear red." -Bill Blass. YES!!! This guy gets is! Black is chic, looks good with my coloring, and matches most colors, but red, now- red is the non-neutral version of black. It's as powerful and classic as black, but more electric, and has the emotion black often lacks. Plus, it's one of my most favorite colorss and honestly, it looks nice with my skin and hair.
3. The fashion of this world passeth away. - 1 Corinthians 7:31. This is undeniably true, yet I don't think many people get this. Trends are not to be obsessed over; they fade just a season or two later. And even if they lasted, why would you want to be so fixated on such a shallow thing as what society says is cool to wear? What does that say about you? It says "I have nothing better to do, think of, or focus my energies on than material things like styles the world says I should wear". Whether it's something revealing,
2. "A woman shall not be clothed with man's apparel; neither shall a man use woman's apparel. For he that doeth these things is abominable before God." -Deuteronomy 22:5. So it's trendy now to dress androgynously (or crossdress, which is obviously worse). When it's just a blouse with suspenders and loafers, there isn't really anything wrong with that, but if you're purposely trying to remind people of masculinity when they look at you (or femininity if you're a guy), you're trying to get attention and go along with the trends, not trying to be yourself.
1. "Dress modestly. You girls go and find the modest clothes and wear them, make them as beautiful as you can and be attractive and make up to your boyfriends in bright intellect and sweet spirit and attractive demeanor that which some girls can only do with their bodies. It is a pretty weak girl if she has only her body to attract somebody." -Spencer W.Kimball. How I felt when I read this! It's everything I often try to convey when speaking on modesty concerning myself, other people, celebrities, and what have you- but of course, much more nicely than I often put it. I so wish the house, school, and mall of every town had a banner or something that had this on it, not just for girls and women to see, but boys and men. A lot of boys today may be perverted, but it's often the cause of a girl not covering up well enough that causes the beginning of their moral downfall.
